Editing Music Video

Today I began to Edit our media project of our music video. This faced some problems as the Mac kept freezing and made it very hard to edit and place the song in time with the shots. The Mac was freezing and made it hard to watch the video.

This took up most of the time of the two hours lesson that we had.

CD/ Digipak analysis 3

The CD cover for the razorlight album is very dull I think because the colour black is the main colour that is on the album and is very dull. The colour red I believe is used effectively because it stands out and is easy to read. The images of the band is very effective because every member of the band is being seen and has their own individual image. These images are not bright but still are dull with the fading black and the blue background which fades in. The images are big so they are easy to see and the the fan base will recognise the band easy. The font is bold and easy to read as it is all in bold font.

CD/Digipak analysis 2

This album cover from the band Snow Patrol is very different to the album cover above. The genre of the band is Indie and the target audience I believe is for 18-60 years old. They have a wide selection of fans and have a lot of albums that they have released as they are a world wide band. I think that this CD cover is very boring and very plain as the colours are from the world as the image is a photo that has been taken. The dark sky connotes the music may be dark and the writing of 'When its all over we still have to clear up'. This relates to the image as the image looks like destruction has happened and the saying suggests after all the destruction they still have to clear up. This could also suggests that if the cd fails the band need to clear up the mess of the album and start again on a new better album.

CD/Digipak analysis 1

The CD cover is very appealing to the audience eye I believe because the cartoon of a character screaming makes the cd very different to other CDs. The Design of this is very similar to the logo in which I designed for my logo design. The way in which the picture relates to the CD is that the CD name is called 'This is an emergency'. This suggests that the person screaming needs helps and is screaming for someone to help as she is in need from an emergency. The band name is the same font in what is on all their band iconography such as their website and other album covers. The target audience for the band from this CD cover is roughly around 18-30 and I believe that from this CD cover the target audience is targeted by the colours and the images that the CD cover holds. The colours are cartooned and the dark colours make the cartoon very dull and connotes that the music is down beat and not the usual upbeat. But this is very similar for a lot of Indie Music Bands. I think that the iconography is used successful to promote the band because the image is broad and takes up the whole depth of the cover. The colours are different to the bands music as I believe that the band actually do have upbeat music such as 'Im a Liar'. So I believe that the iconography here promotes the band in a way in which is different to what the band do.

Conventions of a CD/Digipak

There are a few elements that need to be used on a Digipak.

- Spine (name of single of Band)

- Colour Scheme

- CD Inside

- Images

- Barcode

- Track List

- Album or single name

- Insert/ Inside cover

Initial Ideas for my Digipak

My first Ideas for my Digipak.

- Use the same fonts that are on my website

- Same colours as website

- Picture of the band

- Images from the video

- List of songs

- Single

- Barcode

- Logo of record label

- CCTV images

- Still shots

- Tramp photo

- Spine - Name of band or Single name (Spine is seen)

- Single on front

- Second cd - Either Video
- Making of the Video
- Interview with band.

- Back images to cd slot - Earphone still image

Why a Digipak

Planning and design for my own Digipak. I have decided as it is a type of CD packaging made out of card or other heavy paper/cardboard materials. The Digipak is usually usedfor Indie Bands so works very well with our genre of music. Indie bands usually use a Digipak as they have a small fan base when starting out so a Digipak is much more cheaper than a plastic CD case. A CD is usually for large record labels as a plastic cd case is more expensive. This is usually used for albums such as NOW.

Filming

Today 17th November me Courtney and James began the filming of the project. The cold weather hindered us to do shots perfect as it was to cold to re take loads of shots. The filming I believe went very well as the shots we got I believe may be enough footage and the shots worked well with what we wanted to do. The iPod owner is the scenes that we shot this morning and the only doubt I have is if the beginning shots will work well. If not we will re shoot these shots.

We are still carrying on filming today moving on to the shots with Charlotte our dancing tramp.

Also when filming we decided on a editing technique which was putting all the beginning scene with the iPod owner in black and white but then changing the colour when charlotte puts the headphones on.

Next Filming:

The filming after what was filmed this morning we filmed charlotte being the tramp. I believe that we got some good shots out of todays filming ones that could be used as still shots also. The cold weather was a put of so was hard to get shots perfect as the camera could not be held as steady as possible. The last scene of the music video is the scene where the tramp is dancing without anyone knowing why she was doing it. We had three different cameras filming her at different angles which one camera will be used as CCTV filming.

Location Shots

Here are the pictures of the location that we are using to film our project. We are filming on site of our 6th form as it is easier for the idea of our music video.

Below is the pictures of where we are shooting.

This is where the beginning of the music video will take place, where the 'dancing tramp' finds the iPod and begings to dance.

This is a image of the front of the school where the students will be exiting from school to find the main character dacning away.

This is a map of where the School is.

Filming Schedule.

PERIOD 1 & 2 - Film all shots involving 'Ipod owner' and maybe some extra shots. Also film the last few shots involving the person picking up the headphones at the end of the video; maybe include some extra shots. Any 'bonus' establishing shots of the school etc.

PERIOD 3 & 4 - Footage involving both the 'Ipod owner' and 'Tramp' with the scenes where the Ipod is dropped and then picked up, also where the 'Tramp' is reacting to the music alone, also where he is approaching the school. Any shots with Mr.Smith seeing him (If he is available at this time)

PERIOD 5 - Any extra shots (maybe unplanned) of the tramp fitting, the manic camera work (shaky, frantic zooming in and out)

AFTER SCHOOL - Kids coming out of school, filming reactions to tramp, asking some of them to pretend to film with their phones, laugh, react to the tramp (ACT!)

Model search for 'Dancing Tramp'

Hello,

We were wondering if you could feature as the main character in our A2 Media Coursework as basically a ‘Dancing Tramp’. Our project is a Music Video on a song by the ‘Pigeon Detectives – I’m a Liar’. In the group it is Francesca Batt, Courtney Heary, James Forbes and Connor Barry. We are aiming to film next Wednesday the 17th but are waiting for confirmation from Mr Smith to see what his schedule is, and to see if he can make filming.

Below is the idea of the Music Video that my group has.

My group and I have decided that our final idea would defiantly pursue with the dancing tramp. At the beginning of the lesson we were keen to think of the idea of using a dance group in the video who would randomly be dancing outside of the school. But we have changed this and decided that just the 'tramp' on his own would be much more appropriate and more effective. The ideas that we have decided on is having at the beginning the idea of a man who is in a suit who has the headphones on that seem to be making him sing and dance. He receives a phone call where he begins to be very stressed and runs and drops his iPod. The tramp picks it up and can not get the headphones of this is where he begins to sing and dance around. He begins to dance outside of the school and the kids do not have an idea of what is going on. This is where their reaction would be filmed like the 'T-Mobile' advert. He finally begins to get out of breath and starts to walk of and throws his headphones to the floor. Throughout there will be jump shots of live footage such as guitars playing.

For more information on the Project you could look at any of our blogs they are listed below.

We need you to be able to dance and basically go crazy like the headphones are taking over your body and you can not stop what the headphones are making you do. The main part of the video is you being outside school doors at 3.20 when the kids are coming out of school and you just carry on dancing with no one knowing what is going on and why you are dancing like this. Mr Smith will come out and push you along to get away from outside of school. No body will know what is going on and we will be trying to hide with the cameras so know one will get the idea. We will have different cameras in different angles filming you in this scene. The Video does not fit the song but this is the ironic crazy part of the video what people will not expect to see.

If you are willing to do this then could you please let us know as soon as possible before Monday 15th November. Then we will choose one of the main characters and will let you know the next day. We really need you to be able to not be bothered about who is around you and who is looking at you. And the Video of the dancing outside of school needs to be filmed in one shot so it needs to be perfect.

IF YOU ARE GIVEN ONE OF THESE LETTERS THE IDEA OF THIS VIDEO IS SECRET SO IT IS NOT RUINED.

Cast Letter

Hello

On Wednesday 17th of November, Me (Francesca Batt), Courtney Heary, James Forbes and Connor Barry are filming for our media A2 coursework. Our coursework is a music video that we are making for a Indie Band called ‘The Pigeon Detectives’. To one of their songs called ‘I’m a Liar’. Below is the Idea of our music video.

We would really like you to be involved in the music video by basically acting like you have no idea who the ‘Tramp’ is outside of school. My group and I will be trying to hide to film this dancer so the cameras do not give it all away. We basically need you to come out of school when all the children are coming out and start pushing this dancer away from the premises. We need you to go along with the whole story so the video works in one shot because it can not be filmed again. We also need you for some shots where you are with another teacher seeing the tramp from inside of school. Also is it possible if you have another teacher you could find just so you can talk to when you see the tramp from inside the school.

If you could help us out with this could you let us know if Wednesday is ok for you, or if it is not ok for you? Can you let me know what day is please.

Thank you
Francesca Batt

Starting of my Homepage

When I began on working on my Homepage on iWeb on the Mac I came across a few problems. These were that my links to different pages would not work and it was not possible to click on the links to use them as hyperlinks. Even though I had changed the settings for the hyperlinks they did still not work on my first try at a homepage. After this lesson I began to create my new homepage for The Pigeon Detectives, I made a paper draft of how I thought my Homepage should and will look but after playing around on iWeb I decided to change a few things to my design. One on the main changes I decided to do was change my banner. I first wanted to use a moving image banner such as Jamie.T uses on him homepage but after using iWeb I realised that this would not be easy and would actually take a lot of time to do. Another main elemenet that I changed was the drop down music player, even though I would have really liked to use this iWeb does not hold the feature to let me use this. So instead I will have one song playing and just let the audience of the webpage decide if they would like the music to play or not. On iWeb I layed out how I would like the elements of a webpage to be placed on my homepage. This included pictures, hyperlinks, banner, video, audio, font and colour. My banner that I am deciding to use is going to be made on a software called 'Gimp' this allows me to edit images and add effects to it such as fading and even editing colours to make the image look completly different. My webpage is still in process and the banner is still being made to fit the audience of the music genre indie music.

The Pigeon Detectives. Background

The Pigeon Detectives are an English band from Rothwell who formed in 2002. They have been championed by such well known DJs as Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, and performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2006, where they were tagged "the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007" in an NME review. They supported Dirty Pretty Things whilst they toured in spring 2006. In early November 2006 they supported fellow Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs. On 8 July 2007, they played on the Radio 1 NME Stage in front of thousands at T in the Park. They went on to perform their biggest show ever at Oxegen 2008 which was beamed around Europe on MTV.

Jake Wynne

On the 13th October my class was given the chance to meet Jake Wynne who is a Director and Editor who works in London. He has worked on commercials and music videos for many years. He was inspired by media work he had worked on when he was in secondary school and he edited horror movies and made them here. He then went on to study at Staffordshire University, taking a degree in Film, TV and Radio studies. (This was the first year the course was around). After leaving University he began as a runner at Rushes Post Production House and learned how to cut on non-linear editing systems. This is where he began to try his work out and began to edit award winning commercials and promos for the likes of Robbie Williams and the Spice Girls. He then joined up with a close frind Jim Canty and they became a team. Throughtout the years they worked together and and won the Best New Director Award for 1999 at the Music Week Creative & Design Awards. They continued to direct videos through 2001 for artists including Stereophonics, Catatonia, Feeder, Paul Weller, Spiritualized and their first foray into pop with two videos for Geri Halliwell including ‘It’s Raining Men’. In August 2001 they began to work on commercials, directing spots for Mother, BBH, TBWA and McCann-Ericson. Commercials have included Observer Sport Monthly, Nescafe, PlayStation, BMW, Nike Footlocker, Abbey National, Strongbow, Kelloggs and a worldwide campaign for Vigorsol/Mentos.In December 2006 the two went there seperate ways and split from the team with Jake joining Blue Post Production as Director and senior Avid offline editor.

As a group we were given the chance to work with Jake and was able to make a music video for Robbie Williams 'Let me entertain you'. The experience with him really made me and my class realise how much work is needed in just the music video that we attempted. We were all given different chances to have different roles which included, camera's and acting on the big stage which gave us experience in how a video can be made.

Final Ideas for music video

My group and I have decided that our final idea would defiantly pursue with the dancing tramp. At the beginning of the lesson we were keen to think of the idea of using a dance group in the video who would randomly be dancing outside of the school. Mood Board 3rd November

moodboard]

Here is my mood board for my groups music video. The use of the pictures represent what kind of different things will be in my groups production of a music video. The use of the 'Tramp' is the main theme of my groups video with the themes based around him. The depression and sad picture shows how the tramp is feeling and how is emotions are put across. His emotions change when he finds the 'ipod' and starts listening to the music and begins to dance. His emotion is that he gets very happy and he changes his mood. The angry emotion is of the man in the video who drops the ipod he is on the phone and something is said that makes him very angry and this is where he drops his ipod. The tramp also gets very angry when he can not manage to get the head phones of of him and they take over his body making him dance.

The Finished production logo

Here is the design of my production company logo.

Feedback from my group:

The feedback that I received from my group was positive and the idea that my logo was very creative and fits the genre of indie Music as the glasses is a main element that makes it obvious that my logo represents Indie Music.

BLOG UPDATE - 18TH OCTOBER- Logo Designs Evaluation.

I designed three different logos in which I coulsd use with three different names that my groups production company could use for our logo. My final logo design that I have chosen I believe fits the purpose of the audience as my groups production name is called 'Manic Productions' this name connotes that this genre of music isnt generic, and is unpredictable; also maybe connoting that the possiblities for this genre of music are endless. Choosing from three of the designs I had designed was very easy as one of them stood out from the rest. The idea of using a photo and editing the photo to be made into a cartoon I found very interesting. The cartoon idea of the photo fits well with the Indie genre as many Indies music videos have used cartoon images through some of their music videos. This is mainly shown in the Hoosiers music video. The idea of the person in the photo to wear 'Geeky glasses' associates well with Indie music as alot of Indie band members wear these and it is almost a fashion statement to Indie Music listeners. I have also decided to have the person in the photo screaming as this represents the idea of 'Manic Productions' and in the mouth of the person screaming I will edit in the production companys name. The logo itself will be very different to other logos that I have seen and instead of being a simple image that people could draw it goes against the easy conventions of Indie Music and almost challenges it but still using basic elements of Indie genre.

Mood Board and Web Paper Design

Here is my mood board. The ideas on the page is what I believe could suit the band for the website I am making. I will be taking ideas from this mood board and making it come to life on my webpage.

blog update- 11th October webpage design

How did you use your iconography research and webpage analysis to inform your homepage design plans?

My research into different indie bands website has helped me in gaining an understanding of how some websites are laid out and what kind of information and inks are put on the webpage. Looking at different webpages has gave me a sense of colour and links in which i can use on my own webpage. Links that I am putting on my own webpage have been influenced from different webpages. I looked at webpages of 'Jamie-T, Maccabees, The Killers, The Kooks, Florence and the machine' all webpages have influenced me. I have not decided on what font I am going to use as I am not sure at this precise moment. My mood board is helping my decision as I have placed different types of fonts on my board I just need to decide on one.

Second ideas for 'I'm a liar'

Today in my group we made a brainstorm with different ideas in which we can use although we have already had a initial idea for our video we decided more would be much better.

The brain storm consisted of under the themes of:

Costume
Editing
Narrator
Location

Location Ideas

Streets
London Underground
Clubs
House/Flat
Backstreets
Park
Pub

Narrator

Fights
Unrequited love
Chasing of love
following a story
Crime

Editing

Out of focus
Steady cam
Jumpcuts
Time remapping - Rewind, slow motion, fast forward
x-ray effect

Costume

High end fashion
Tracksuits
Flares (80s theme)

Under the theme costume we can came up the idea of maybe having a tramp in the video who is singing along with the lyrics. Thinking of costume we also began to think of props and thought that maybe the tramp could be singing along with a I-Pod in. Expanding further with this idea we thought of having a tramp singing along with the music who is dancing maybe even body popping. This idea is different to many other ideas that we have thought of and is very different to many music videos I have looked at. The audience would be very shocked to see this as our main idea as it is very unique and they would not be expecting it. From this to the idea of this tramp trying to get the lead singers attention the one who is following and trying to find the girl. The one who is in idea 1 - the tramp is dancing in front of him for money but the lead singer does not notice him and is to focused in finding the women he is after.

Below is a video by Fat Boy Slim which has the dancing and is similar to the idea in what we had, but it would not be in the location and with not the same kind of dancing.

The other idea we gained from working in a team today and writing out a spider diagram was that we used narrator and used the lyrics to help with our video ideas. A main line that is used in the song is 'I only came here, 'cause I hinder you drinking, darling.' From this line we gained the impression that the main character in this song is aiming to stop this women from drinking. We got the impression that this women was maybe a alcoholic and he is stopping her from making the mistake. From idea 1 we thought that when the man wakes up in the morning he could look over and find that she was gone, he frantically gets up and tries to find her.

Ideas for 'I'm A Liar'

IDEAS;

-Opening instrumental; considering band in background, also starting off with a guy waking up, and getting ready (getting out of bed, going into the bathroom, looking in the mirror, sticking on clothes he wore last night-that maybe trigger memories of the night before?) maybe showing him to be quite a mess; quite a few jumpcuts and mostly handheld camera work-to connote that the guy isn't very organised, a bit 'all over the place' and he's a bit of a 'jack the lad', quite confident/cheeky; also maybe shots of his room, showing the state of it. Maybe static shots showing his room, then his alarm clock, and various other parts of his room, really getting across to the audience that this is a young guy, who isn't really bothered about material things-quite 'carefree'.

-Also, to match the guitar strumming at the beginning of the instrumental, we could have the shots of his room, then being cut into with snippets of a guitar being strummed/played; so the music can be incorporated into the action.

-Maybe, instead of having a whole band being shown at points throughout the music video, we could have one person playing a guitar/drums, in which we take CU's and ECU's of, and use to cut into various other shots; matching the beats of the music.
-Fast paced 'ba ba ba ba ba ba'-could intergrate various shots of the main character running; i.e shots of his feet, his eyes, his face as he's running, him looking over his shoulder, his body etc (CU/ECU) and also whilst there are shots of the guy running, there are ECU's of fast strumming being slotted inbetween the running action.

-Lyrics; maybe tell the story backwards, following the lyrics; maybe including a bar/club; CU's of crumpled beer cans, a trashed house-he doesnt remember it. Maybe shaky POV shots-put effects during the editing stages, making the POV shot very blurry and unsteady; Maybe the girl he's chasing keeps on appearing and dissappearing; connoting this girl is always moving, and he cant seem to keep control of her.

-2nd verse of 'ba ba ba ba ba' maybe the guy could be frantically trying to clean up-once again with ECU's of strumming, and drumming; building pace and intentsity. Loads of jumpcuts once again-picking up cans in one shot, taking out the bins in the next shot etc, etc.

-During the slower verse's, the guy could be 'stealthily' trying to follow the girl; trying to act a sleuth, and be smooth, but maybe falls over, gets seen by various people-trys to act casual. Also, we could maybe intergrate random, frantic shots from the night before, him jumping about maybe, enjoying himself, drinking, being with girls etc.

-We want to focus on jumpcuts and a lot of handheld shots; to connote that the guy is a mess, and also to get across matching the beat of the music to the fast paced action. We also want to incorporate static, abstract-esque shots, and have also discussed zooming in whilst walking backwards with the camera, and we want to experiment with shots that are aeshtetically pleasing.

These are some initial ideas we have discussed and put down, and this will probably serve as a basis for the story of our music video-but we are yet to expand and develop the idea with more creative flare.

Music Video Permission/Reply

Here's a copy of the letter we sent to 'Dance to the radio' , who are the current Record Label and current copyright holders of the song by 'Pigeon Detectives'

''Dear Copyright Holder,

I am an A-Level student and I am writing to you to ask permission to use one track by The Pigeon Detectives called 'I'm a Liar'

With your permission this track would be used in my current A-Level Media coursework project that will involve creating a music video for a popular music track as well as promoting a dvd cover and a web page for the artist.

I look forward to hearing from you

regards

Francesca Batt"

We currently have not heard back from the company and if we do not hear back we will still carry on with the productions of our music video. If they do reply demanding we can not use their song my group will have to rethink of a song and use another one of our choices.

11th October - Reply from record label

Hi Francesca,

Many thanks for your email.
You are more than welcome to use the track ‘I’m a Liar’ by the Pigeon Detectives for your project.
I hope it goes well, we’d be interested to see the finished results.
Kind Regards,
Phil

Final Choice of song - Pigeon Detectives I'm a liar

Lyrics

Pigeon Detectives - I'm a Liar

I can't not thinking of you, since you came into view, but i've tried.
All the boys do the same, girl you pop them insane with desire.
'Cause like a bird in my hands, it will all go as planned, I'm a liar.

I can't not thinking of you, since you came into view
But I've tried...

papapa padapa
papapa padapa

I only came here, 'cause I hinder you drinking, darling.

papapa padapa
papapa padapa

I only came here, 'cause I hinder you drinking, darling.
Although I don't know your name, well I could love you just the same, for tonight.
And like a flash in your pendle I will take what I can, if that's alright.
I still don't know how I feel, the words I use, the words I steel, I'm a liar
I can't not thinking of you, since you came into view, but I've tried.

papapa padapa
papapa padapa

I only came here, 'cause I hinder you drinking, darling.

papapa padapa

I only came here, 'cause I hinder you drinking, darling.

The maccabees Wall of arms

I woke up with a loved one's eyes upon me
Loved one's arms around me
Oh...She's my one and only

I grew up in the bosom of my family
Eight strong arms around me
Oh...from the seed they've grown me

And I thank those
Those who kept me company
They are a wall of arms around me
Oh...it is they who are my army
Oh… it is they who are my army

Through these eyes
There's no god above me
No devil below me
No purgatory, no pearly gates
The worms are what await me
It's only me that can forgive me and
I have faith, oh...I have faith
I have faith, oh...I have faith
In those who put up with me

She's my one and only
If I'm the seed they've grown me
They who are my army
The wall of arms around me

The maccabees website analysis.

http://www.themaccabees.co.uk

The conventions that are used on The Maccabees website is the audio and video that as a audience we see and hear as soon as we get to the homepage of their website. The live performance that the audience are shown which engages the fans in to seeing how they sing and how their band works. The attention of the audience is on the band straight away. Using the live footage keeps the fan more engaged and keeps them on the website for longer. The text on the homepage are the links that the website has. At the bottom of the live footage the links take you to the maccabees social networking sites. This is effective because a fan can go on to their hompage and find everything they need in one place. The links at the top of the page let the audience find out everything they need to about the band there is a section for lyrics, news, blog, live, images, videos and lots more. This gives a insight into the band and people that are not fans are able to find out everything about them. The layout of the webpage is simple with the links at the top aswell of the logo of the band which is recognisable as their logo is just their band name. The layout is also simple as the navigations are easy to find and bold to see them.

Who is the target audience? How are they targeted?

The target audience will be fans of the Indie Genre and their age will probally be around teh age of 15-30. The target audience are targeted by the use of the live gig footage of the band. The live footage also gives a new audience member the chance to see what the band are like this engages them and can even convert them to liking the band. The footage also is free and quick to find, showing the footage means that fans have not got to look far for good quality footage of the band, e.g youtube.

How successful is it at promoting the artist?

The artist is promoted well I think because of the video and the links the website has. The band is the first thing you see and hear. This promotes the band by maybe word of mouth as fans can go on and see that the video of the bands is up and the fans can share it with others. The links that the website has which said in question one help to promote the artist as everything a fan needs is on that website. This means that the fan has not got to go to other websites and have hassle searching for what they need to know.

How have the web conventions used?

Straight away we are shown a video link to the making of their new album video. This engages the audiences and lets them be updated on new information. There is no text on the homepage except a little piece saying 'Hi everyone, were recording our 3rd album in NY have a look'. The band are engaging with the audience and make them feel involved in what they are and are up to. The links on this website are different as they only have four links which are 'Shop', ;Facebook' , 'Twitter' and 'myspace'. All of these links are in the same font and does not show the social networking logos. The bands logo is right at the top of the screen which makes the band more noticeable. The dark colours suggests that the black colour makes the logo and the video more eye catching. The layout os very simple and is very plain with just having the video in the middle of the page. Everything is placed in the middle of the web page which also makes the audience have attention on the main element of the web page.

Who is the Target audience? how are they targeted?

The target audience I think is more aimed at the male gender. I think this because of the colour that is on the web page. This is because of the dark colours such as the black background. The target audience for Indie Music is usually around 15-30 yeal olds. The fact that their is no information on the website suggests that the audience the band are aiming at is people that already know them and are keen on not knowing everything about the band.

How successful is it at promoting the artist?

I think that the webpage promotes the band in a different way than others as many other web pages have inormation about the band so the audience are more involved in knowing whats going on with the band. The video also shows what the band are like and how they work together this makes new fans realise what they are like, And if the band are working good together this usually makes the public more interested as they would prefer to see a group of people working together. As a audience member who has not heard of the band before I was intreeged to see more of the video and because it is the groups third album I was wanting to hear other songs and see other videos that the group had make. Just from that video clip I had become interested in what the band could offer.

questions in Paragraph

What did you learn from your research?

From my research I learned that the way in which logos and colours
are used are very important, in a way that makes the band unique in
its own way. The logo of the band is well thought about and different
logos are different from other bands logos. This takes a lot of time to
do so that bands logos are not similar at all.

How have you achieved your design?

As my group has not actually picked a song yet and we are still in the
process of finding a song that would best fit our ideas in which we have
for the music video. We have not started to design a logo yet because as
a group we are still researching a band. But my ideas I have come up with so far for a logo are that I would like my logo to be unique but for this I would need to use colours that other bands do not usually use. Looking at band logos most of them use black as their main colour so I would go different to this.

What do you need to do next?

My group next needs to pick a song as their is a few we can choose from and we are waiting to see if record companies will write back to us. Myself I believe that i need to do more research into the genre to find out more about Indie Bands. I believe this will help me and my group as ideas are gained from what I have found out and could help a lot with our groups coursework.
